McNeil ready to fight for place at Everton after failed Palace move
Latest from Your Site News' Rob Dorsett:
Dwight McNeil is now entirely focused on winning more game time at Everton following the collapse of his move to Crystal Palace on Deadline Day.
Your Site News has been told he is determined to use the disappointment as motivation.
Having initially agreed a straight 20m fee, Palace wanted to make late changes to the deal - a key part of that was making the move a loan until the end of the season, with an obligation to buy in the summer at the agreed fee.
Further changes then included an exemption on the obligation to buy, if Palace are relegated.
It is understood that Everton agreed to all of the amendments, but with negotiations going on late into the window, even the submission of a deal sheet didnt allow Palace to get their end of the paperwork completed in time for the Premier League deadline.
A deal sheet allows parties an extra two hours to complete a deal if there is agreement on all sides, but Palace werent able to get all their formalities sorted by 9pm.
McNeils partner has said on social media that the saga has left them broken-hearted, with the winger himself adding that even now I am still left in the dark.
Your Site News has been told McNeil will continue to behave as he always has at Everton, with professionalism and dedication.
For him, the move to Palace was never about a desire to leave Merseyside.
Rather, it was about wanting more game-time, and he is now fully committed to winning a more regular starting place in David Moyes side.
The 26-year-old was brought off at half-time in the 1-1 draw with Leeds United last Monday, and has only played a full 90 minutes once in the Premier League so far this calendar year.

Gueye: I am happy McNeil stayed, he is important at Everton
Idrissa Gueye insists Dwight McNeil is still an important player at Everton and hopes he can bounce back after a move to Crystal Palace collapsed on Deadline Day.
Your Site News reported the two clubs had agreed an initial loan move with an obligation to buy for 20m but the transfer collapsed due to paperwork not being completed in time.
"I am very happy to have him back personally," Gueye told Your Site News.
"Dwight is a great lad and he works hard. He has a lot of quality and was a really important player for us in the last few years when we were battling relegation.
"He is an important player for us. What happened to him, hopefully he will just put it to the side and we will be there to welcome him, to make him comfortable.
