Man Utd youngster joins Swindon

Manchester United midfielder James Scanlon has joined Swindon Town on loan until the end of the season.

Scanlon, 19, was included in the United first-team matchday squad for their Europa League tie against Real Sociedad in March 2025.

Mateta's January move will NOT happen

Jean-Philippe Mateta will not be leaving Crystal Palace on Transfer Deadline Day after his move to AC Milan fell through.

The Italian club chose not to proceed with the deal following further medical checks today in Paris.

Juventus were interested, but nothing materialised after Milan pulled out of the deal.

Mateta's next task will be re-integrating with the Palace first-team squad. He missed the 1-1 draw at Forest.

Palace have also signed Jorgen Strand Larsen for a club-record 48m from Wolves. He was viewed as Mateta's replacement but they will now be teammates.

What is a deal sheet?

Premier League clubs need to fill in a 'deal sheet' in order to complete after the window has closed.

The deal sheet allows a club to confirm that an agreement has been reached and also gives them more time to get the move through.

The deal sheet cannot be used before 5pm and needs to be filled in before the transfer window closes.

Once the deal sheet arrives with the Premier League, the clubs have until 9pm to submit all the required paperwork.

Oxford target Huddersfield left-back

Oxford United are trying to sign Huddersfield left-back Ruben Roosken, along with Millwall winger Aidomo Emakhu.

Which deals are we waiting for?

Here are the transfer deals we are still waiting on after the deadline:

  • Louie Barry - Aston Villa to Stockport (loan)

  • Tyrique George - Chelsea to Everton (loan)

Crystal Palace sign Strand Larsen for 48m

Crystal Palace have signed striker Jorgen Strand Larsen from Wolves for 48m.

Palace set to pay a guaranteed fee of 43m plus 5m in add-ons.

The transfer has gone through despite Jean-Philippe Mateta's move to AC Milan failing.

Palace have now broken their transfer record twice in this window following the purchase of Brennan Johnson from Tottenham Hotspur.

Motherwell hoping to sign Celtic defender

Latest from Your Site News' Gordon Duncan and Anthony Joseph:

Motherwell are still hoping to bring back Celtic centre-back Stephen Welsh on loan before tonights deadline.

The clubs have a broad agreement in principle that a deal can be done if Celtic bring in another centre-back tonight.

The Hoops are close to an agreement to loan Brentfords Benjamin Arthur. If a deal can be struck it should pave the way for Welsh to return to Fir Park.

Motherwell and Welsh are awaiting the green light from Celtic.

Hibernian sign striker Suto

Hibernian have signed Croatian-Australian striker Ante Suto from Slaven Belupo.

The 25-year-old has joined on a two-and-a-half-year deal, with the option to extend by a further 12 months.

Suto who has scored four goals and provided six assists in 18 games in the Croatian top-flight this season - is Hibs fifth January arrival.

Sheff Wed sign Man City youngster

Sheffield Wednesday have signed Man City youngster Joel Ndala on loan for the rest of the season.

The 19-year-old winger was recalled from Hull City for the move to be completed.

Ndala has started 10 Championship matches so far this season, scoring once.

THE JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW IS CLOSED!

That's it! The transfer window in England has closed, but it's still open in Scotland until 11pm.

And there could be more transfers to come if clubs have submitted a deal sheet to the Premier League, which gives them until 9pm to finalise moves.
