Mateta's January move will NOT happen
Jean-Philippe Mateta will not be leaving Crystal Palace on Transfer Deadline Day after his move to AC Milan fell through.
The Italian club chose not to proceed with the deal following further medical checks today in Paris.
Juventus were interested, but nothing materialised after Milan pulled out of the deal.
Mateta's next task will be re-integrating with the Palace first-team squad. He missed the 1-1 draw at Forest.
Palace have also signed Jorgen Strand Larsen for a club-record 48m from Wolves. He was viewed as Mateta's replacement but they will now be teammates.
What is a deal sheet?
Premier League clubs need to fill in a 'deal sheet' in order to complete after the window has closed.
The deal sheet allows a club to confirm that an agreement has been reached and also gives them more time to get the move through.
The deal sheet cannot be used before 5pm and needs to be filled in before the transfer window closes.
Once the deal sheet arrives with the Premier League, the clubs have until 9pm to submit all the required paperwork.
