Why Ronaldo is 'considering' going on strike at Al Nassr

Who needs what before the deadline in the Championship promotion race?

Analysis from Your Site EFL Editor Simeon Gholam:

Coventry City

Who have they signed so far?

  • Yang Min-Hyeok - winger on loan from Tottenham
  • Romain Esse - winger on loan from Crystal Palace

What do they need? A central midfielder. Maybe two. And badly. In their last two Championship games they have taken the lead and lost control of both games and been defeated, with chasms appearing in the middle of the park. It is an area they desperately need to add to.
-------------------

Middlesbrough

Who have they signed so far?

  • Jeremy Sarmiento - winger from Brighton
  • Leo Castledine - attacking midfielder from Chelsea
  • Finley Munroe - full-back from Aston Villa

What do they need? Mainly, to make sure captain and talisman Hayden Hackney is there at the end of the window. Aside from that, the squad is pretty solid.

-------------------

Hull City

Who have they signed so far?

  • Kieran Dowell - attacking midfielder from Rangers
  • Paddy McNair - defender from San Diego
  • Yu Hirawka - forward on loan from Bristol City
  • Toby Collyer - midfielder on loan from Man Utd
  • Lewis Koumas - winger on loan from Liverpool

What do they need? Some excellent business has already been done in this window from Hull City to bolster their promotion ambitions. Some added depth in the full-back areas couldn't hurt, as well as maybe some more backup for Oli McBurnie up top.

-------------------

Ipswich Town

Who have they signed so far?

  • Anis Mehmeti - attacking midfielder from Bristol City
  • Dan Neil - midfielder from Sunderland

What do they need? A striker. George Hirst and Chuba Akpom haven't quite done the business this season in attack and having someone putting away the amount of chances they create could fire them back towards the top two.

-------------------

Millwall

Who have they signed so far?

  • Barry Bannan - midfielder from Sheffield Wednesday
  • Anthony Patterson - goalkeeper on loan from Sunderland
  • Tom Watson - winger on loan from Brighton

What do they need? More creativity. Watson and Bannan are nice additions, but Millwall have scored the joint second-fewest goals in the top half of the Championship. Another winger or No 10 would help.

Huddersfield leading race for Hardie

Latest from Your Site News' Anthony Joseph:

Huddersfield Town are leading the race to sign Wrexham striker Ryan Hardie on loan.

Bolton Wanderers had been in talks for the 28-year-old, but its believed he is more likely to make a Deadline Day move to Huddersfield as things stand.

A departure for Hardie will not be sanctioned until Wrexham bring in another striker.

Your Site News has revealed in the last hour that the Welsh club are close to sealing deals for both Barnsleys Davis Keillor-Dunn and Sheffield Wednesdays Bailey Cadamarteri.

Man Utd striker Wheatley joins Bradford

Man Utd striker Ethan Wheatley has joined Bradford on loan for the rest of the season.

The forward spent the first half of the season with Northampton.

Palace exploring move for Everton's McNeil

Latest from Your Site News' James Savundra and Rob Dorsett:

Crystal Palace are exploring a late move for Everton's Dwight McNeil

Nottingham Forest have also shown interest in reuniting the winger with Sean Dyche.

Everton would need to sign a replacement to consider letting McNeil go.

Tyrique George is having a medical in the North West ahead of an initial loan to Everton from Chelsea.

Four hours to go!

Analysis: Are Strand Larsen and Armstrong deals in doubt after Mateta fails medical?

Your Site' Rob Dorsett:

"Like any housing chain, the concern now is that a number of deals may collapse on the back of Jean Phillipe Matetas failed move to AC Milan.

"At the moment, our sources are telling us that Crystal Palace still plan to go ahead with their club-record 48m deal to sign Jorgen Strand Larsen from Wolves, and that Wolves in turn will complete their transfer for Adam Armstrong - for 7m +2m from Southampton - to replace him.

"Strand Larsen has completed his medical, but hasnt yet finalised terms and signed the contract.

"If Palace have a change of heart - and decide that, with Mateta returning to Selhurst Park, they dont need three strikers (with him, Evan Guessand and Strand Larsen) could they pull the plug late on the deal to sign the Wolves man? And would Wolves in turn decide that, with Strand Larsen back in their squad, they dont need Armstrong?

"Until the contracts are signed and registered with the Premier League, there will be nerves in South London, Wolverhampton and Southampton."

Mayulu leaves Bristol City

Bristol City have announced the departure of Fally Mayulu.

The 23-year-old has joined Portuguese club FC Arouca on a permanent deal.

Mayulu - brother of PSG's Senny - was on the Robins' books for two years, but played only 28 games.

Phillips close to joining Blades on loan

Latest from Your Site News' Ben Ransom and Rob Dorsett:

Kalvin Phillips is closing in on a deal which would see him leave Manchester City and join Sheffield United on loan for the remainder of the season.

There was interest from other clubs, Your Site News has been told, but Phillips is keen on a move back to Yorkshire to try to rejuvenate his career.

Phillips played for Leeds for eight years, making 214 appearances, before a 42 million move to Man City.

He has played just seven minutes of football for City this season, in the Carabao Cup.

It's thought City will still pay the bulk of Phillips' salary while he is on loan at Bramall Lane.

What does Mateta deal collapse mean for Strand Larsen and Armstrong?

Your Site News' Rob Dorsett:

"At the moment, our sources are saying Palace still going ahead with Strand Larsen and Wolves are proceeding with their move for Adam Armstrong.

"But let's wait to see how this development changes things. It's going to be fascinating."
