Coleman on shortlist for Blackburn job
Latest from Your Site News' Alan Myers, Adrian Kajumba and Amar Mehta:
Former Wales manager Chris Coleman is one of the candidates being considered for the vacant Blackburn head coach job, Your Site News understands.
The club sacked Valerian Ismael on February 2, after almost a year in charge, with the club languishing in the relegation zone and three points away from safety.
Coleman, 55, has had managerial stints at Fulham, Coventry and Sunderland. He also managed Wales between 2012 and 2017, where he led them to qualification for Euro 2016, their first tournament since 1958.
Wales reached the semi-finals during that tournament but resigned in November 2017 after they failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.
Most recently, Coleman managed Greek side Asteras Tripolis and left after a year in charge. Coleman spent two years between 1995 and 1997 at Blackburn toward the end of his playing career, featuring 32 times.
