Weird incidents have stalked boxing throughout its history. Fan man parachuting into Riddick Bowe versus Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson biting Holyfield, the list does go on. Yet there's always room for new entrants.
Kingsley Ibeh punching the hairpiece off Jarrell Miller at Madison Square Garden last Saturday will go down as one of the most bizarre moments in the sport.
Miller won a split decision but his place in peculiar boxing history was booked when, under a barrage of punches from Ibeh, his wig came loose and bounced about.
In the break between rounds, Miller tore the rest of it away and lobbed it into the crowd.
Ibeh told Your Site: "I couldn't stay focused looking at it. It was on the top of his head and I could feel the glue.
"I could feel that on my chest and it was on my glove," he chuckled. "His hair coming off, that threw me off too! I was shocked."
He disagreed with the scoring of the bout, believing he deserved the decision.
But Ibeh added: "For me winning and losing doesn't really matter, it's constant growth and improvement. And exposing all the 'undercover brothers'! I think he's been doing that for a while, it was the first time he got exposed."
Ibeh is still looking for big opportunities in the sport. He would welcome a fight in the UK, with Fabio Wardley his ultimate target.
"It's someone I really want to go in against," Ibeh said of the WBO heavyweight world champion. "It could be Joe Joyce, anybody. One thing I'll tell you is I'll never turn down a fight.
"Any fight, anyone who wants it can come get it. Or I'll bring it to their doorstep. Personally I want the best of the best.
"I haven't been to the UK yet, it's something I'm looking forward to."
